Discarded to Divine - Sneak Preview at the de Young Museum

Every year, Apparel Design & Merchandising students from San Francisco State University have the honor of putting together the sneak preview event for Discarded to Divine, a fashion event that has become such a huge part of San Francisco and the Bay Area over the last few years.  Designers around the Bay Area participate in this fabulous event by taking unusable donated clothing, and using them to create unique pieces of wearable art and home decor.  These items are then auctioned off, and the funds help to support the poor and less fortunate.

The sneak preview event is fully planned and executed by ADM students at the de Young Museum in San Francisco, allowing people from the community to come out and really see these amazing pieces of art up close.  For many, this is the opportunity to find items they plan on bidding on during the actual Discarded to Divine auction event.

Below are photos of actual items, set up of the sneak preview, and the actual sneak preview event.
